Chris Copeland of the NBA's Indiana Pacers was reportedly stabbed at a club early this morning along with his wife, who was attacked as well.
Moreover, two members of the Atlanta Hawks were arrested for obstructing police.
The violent incident occurred in New York's 1Oak nightclub just a few hours ago.
TMZ reports that Copeland was stabbed in the stomach while his was hit in the arm, breast and rear end. None of their injuries are said to be life -threatening.
Cops arrested the person they believe was responsible for attacking them, 22-year-old Shezoy Bleary ... who is not a professional basketball player.
Nor does Bleary know Copeland, but he inserted himself into a conversation he was having with his wife for reasons unknown, and a fight ensued.
Outside the club, Chris' wife said, "We were attacked out of nowhere by a f--king black civilian. We have nothing to say. We are scared for our lives."
That about sums up what is known about the bizarre incident thus far.
As for the two Hawks players involved, Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha, they were detained for preventing the police from setting up a crime scene.
It's very much unclear why or how they managed that, but the two role players for the first-place Hawks have some explaining to do to their bosses.
