Lance Armstrong was cited by Aspen, Colo., police after a hit-and-run accident in which his girlfriend Anna Hansen initially (and falsely) took the blame.
Telling the truth is not the disgraced cyclist's strong suit.
Armstrong and Anna Hansen were on their way back from a party when they hit two parked rental cars in their GMC Yukon, according to reports.
The owner of the house where the cars where parked called 911, after which time Anna appeared from around the corner to provide her information.
Questioned the next day at home, Hansen told police that she'd been driving at the time of the accident because "Lance had a little bit to drink."
She claimed she lost control of the car due to icy roads.
However, the investigating officer was "suspicious of Hansen's story," and decided to interview the valet at the party, who said Lance took the wheel.
Per the report, Hansen later admitted she'd been in the passenger seat, and that Armstrong had been behind the wheel when they hit the cars.
She told police that they'd made a "joint decision" for her to take the blame in order to protect their family, and that Lance was not actually drunk.
Hansen was cleared of any traffic or criminal charges, while Lance was cited for "duty to report accidents" and "exceeding safe speed for conditions."
Tiger Woods was seemingly a happily married man while winning many golf majors. Then it came out that he cheated - A LOT - on his wife and his career has never been the same.
Adrian Peterson is a record-setting running back on the Vikings. He's been accused of abusing at least one child by hitting him many times with a switch.
It almost feels wrong to even include Jerry Sandusky among these other athletes, coaches and owners because his actions were so extreme. But the former Penn State coach was convicted of child abuse and rape.
We have not forgotten about O.J. Simpson. Everyone except members of a jury agree he killed his ex-wife. He's now serving time in jail for armed robbery.
Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for the first six games of the 2010 season after allegations of sexual assault. He was never found guilty in any courtroom.
