You may wanna remove Adrian Peterson from your starting fantasy football team lineup, readers.

A couple days after saying Peterson would return to the squad and suit up for this Sunday's game against the Saints, the Minnesota Vikings have reversed course and placed the star on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list.

He will remain there until his child abuse case is resolved and is now banned him from all team activities.

"After giving the situation additional thought, we have decided this is the appropriate course of action for the organization and for Adrian," Vikings owners Zygi Wilf and Mark Wilf said in the statement. "We are always focused on trying to make the right decision as an organization.

"We embrace our role - and the responsibilities that go with it - as a leader in the community, as a business partner and as an organization that can build bridges with our fans and positively impact this great region. We appreciate and value the input we have received from our fans, our partners and the community."

Peterson was indicted last week in Montgomery County, Texas, on a felony count of reckless or negligent injury to a child.

The charge stems from an incident last summer that left bruises and wounds all over the body of his 4-year-old son, injuries Peterson admitted to inflicting in texts to the child's mother.

After initially receiving praise for deactivating Peterson over the weekend, the Vikings faced heavy criticism for reinstating him on Monday.

The about-face came after the Radisson hotel chains suspended its sponsorship with the Vikings, Papa John's considered the same action and Anheuser-Busch said it was "disappointed and increasingly concerned" about the situation.

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Senator Al Franken were among those who called for the Vikings to reconsider their position, as a second case of Peterson child abuse has even come up this week.

LIAR!
Lance Armstrong denied it and denied it, but he eventually came clean: yes, he cheated to win every Tour de France.

Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, told The Associated Press that "This is the best possible outcome given the circumstances," adding:

"Adrian understands the gravity of the situation, and this enables him to take care of his personal situation. We fully support Adrian, and he looks forward to watching his teammates and coaches being successful during his absence."

Peterson, who Tweeted about God and Christ and overcoming obstacles after this announcement was made, said via statement last week that he is trying to be a better father and person.
